Cornwall Park Information Centre is based in the historical Huia Lodge.
Initially built as the Park Caretakers Cottage it now houses displays on the natural and human history of Cornwall Park and One Tree Hill.
From here you can collect brochures on all aspects of the Park ranging from trees to volcanoes, as well as brochures on activities and things to do in Auckland.
The Information Centre also hosts art exhibitions, displays and demonstrations, as well as school holiday activities, check the news and events page for details of these.
The Maungakiekie Education Centre contains interactive features that enables visitors to explore the Maori history of One Tree Hill.
The orientation video explains the volcanic history of the hill, and the Maori shaping of the cone into a fortified living space.
Then use the computer workstations to access computer reconstructions of the hill and pa site and to gain further knowledge on the Maori life at Maungakiekie.
