Established 2000 - Taupo Skate Park at the junction of Tauhara Road & Spa Road at Hickling Park.
The Skate Park is located at the A C Reserve on Tauhara Road and was opened on 6 May 2000. It was constructed by Tracks Concrete of Whakatane at a cost of $200,000 and is a Chad Ford designed facility. The overall dimensions are 55 metres long by 29 metres at its widest point and it has 1286 square metres of concrete surface to skate.
Since the park was opened it has been enhanced with the addition of a drinking fountain, barriers, paving, seats, a toilet and lighting. It has become a popular venue for a wide ranging age group and is also used for skating demos, competitions and other youth events.
