Keirunga Gardens is a public park comprising 17 hectares of formal gardens and parkland and includes the Keirunga Park Railway, maintained by the Hastings District Council.
The Keirunga Gardens Arts & Crafts Society is set within the beautiful gardens providing a home for the learning and practice of many arts, crafts and leisure pursuits.
Grouped around a central courtyard, the original Keirunga Homestead buildings, purpose built workshop, artist’s studio and pottery provide accommodation for the various indoor activities. In addition, the courtyard and gardens provide idyllic settings for outdoor festivals, concerts and drama productions.
The Keirunga Park Railway is an 846 metre track operated by the Havelock North Live Steamers Club. The track winds its way through tunnels, over viaducts and around scenic rock faces.
The track is open on the first and third Sundays of the month, from 11am to 4pm, and all weekend at Easter and Labour Weekend.
