Museum of Aviation
The Kapiti Museum of Aviation is housed in the old Meteorological Service building next to Paraparaumu airfield oridinal control tower (1942). This is temporary accommodation pending development plans for airport changes overall. Presently the museum overlooks the airfield runways.
The museum was opened in January 1995 to preserve New Zealand general aviation history. The emphasis is upon general aviation rather than military. There is information on New Zealand Pioneer Aviators from 1902 onwards as well as New Zealand Aviation Meteorology developments.
Currently closed, as we're not able to meet Covid-19 restrictions safely. Sorry.
