The Museum is located in the old Post Office building of 1906, which is a category 2 Heritage Places Trust building and specialises in 'communication'.
It is also strong in local history artefacts and information. A street area depicting the original township has a butcher shop, store, garage and cycle shop, c1894 buildings, still being used. Historic plaques have been erected on each building.
