Torenhof and the Canterbury Provincial Chamber complex we are part of has been extensively damaged in the February earthquake and will be closed for some time.The land base and buildings have literally been picked up shifted approximately 200 cm east and twisted. We have had great support from our landlords, Christchurch City Council, Heritage and you our customers. It is our intent to work closely with all concerned parties and have Torenhof reopened so that it can once again take its rightful place as the world′s best Belgian Beer Café and represent Christchurch and the South Island as the leading Belgian Beer Café .

Torenhof offers commitment to Belgian Beer and outstanding Cuisine. A wonderful 1920's interior café fit out within the Canterbury Provincial Chambers overlooking the river Avon and garden reserve.

Our large outdoor terraced area or indoor café offers the ideal place to catch up with friends, celebrate a special occasion or relax with a Belgian Beer.

Located on the Tram Route on Armagh Street, Torenhof is the only bar in Christchurch to offer Stella Artois, Hoegaarden, Leffe Blonde and Leffe Brune on tap.
