TECT Arena at Baypark began its journey on January 11th 2010 and is estimated to be completed by September 2011.
The Arena is designed for a broad range of community and sports events. It will have both 6 court and 3 court layouts, which will give it a multifunction operational role. The TECT Arena will be capable of hosting international, national, and regional sports events plus exhibitions, conferences and indoor concerts. Baypark's increased traffic flow will be handled by a new four lane entry/exit road.
On its completion, the Arena will add another facility to Baypark’s portfolio of facilities making it one of the most unique multi-purpose recreation and events sites in New Zealand
Council and the generous grant by TECT has opened the door for a wide range of entertainment events to be hosted in Tauranga
