  • "A live band can do it...strong words that resonate intention in a poem or song....a charming man...damn! a painting or 5 that I've seen in passing & wanted like chocolate oh, perfume.. beautiful clothes in yummy colours...a play thats stuck in my head & made me grateful for words... oh & the promise of future mischief & continual cool stimulants for my senses...like all of the above. whats most intoxicating is the grace of being alive & the awareness to enjoy it."

  • "I'd shapeshift into different coloursof all the most pleasurable things I could think of, like the fuschia veins in an orchid when the bloom is @ its peak of beauty....or the foam in a wave breaking @ 2 in the morning on the reef @ Waikite...I'd feel the colour I became & wrap upon myself in its texture...mmmmm. Imagine what the tint of the moon feels like on still water...damn..that would be me."

  • "I'm nostalgic for good manners & basic courtesy...lay buys @ Farmers & customer service that doesnt suck. I would love to see little girls in clothes that are'nt identical to mine & not have to fight for my adult identity because my 6 yr olds friend has the same earrings as me..it would be cool to see some individuality back in society...I'm nostalgic for people being themselves & not mirror caricatures of each other..."recipe dressing" bites, I'm nostalgic for the times when people loved gigs because of the vibe it gave them & not the "appearance" points because "they were there". unfortunately.... nostalgia is depressing."

  • "'Gascrankinstation'....I was in college when I 1st saw the video for this song on CV?...Radio with Pictures?...whatever the current music show was @ the time..I had this fascination with Anita Mc Naught the newspresenter, (who features in a scene on television in the video)...ya know... she seemed really refined & I loved her hairstyle! It was the oddest song & the vid was odd but I REALLY liked it...which was odd in itself because maori teenage girls from Otara just dont do indie...I got an awareness of what I liked & who I liked outside the norm of my peers...its lucky when a bands music can encourage you to be whatever you should be...from the Chickens I discovered Bailterspace & the Abel Tasmans...which encouraged my true love of NZ music, long before there were t-shirts making it cool. In a lot of ways Im stil, ya know...2.7.4 but thanks to tunes like George (love Fionas makeup on that one) I feed my senses with what I like, not the masses. "

  • "I saw this show on Saturday night. The dialogue was funny/witty/sarcastic & thoughtful. All the characters portrayed degrees of acidic self preservation in their relationships, which rolled the storyline along in a fast capital letters LOUD kinda way... helped in part to the twangy whingey way Americans tend to enunciate. It was beautifully styled, the clothes & set were contemporary & I thorougly enjoyed it. Go see it & support our local artists, it made my weekend :)"

  • "Beauty announces your presence in sight, but talent emanates. In talents favour, one can highlight their inner thoughts & intentions...talent can affect the recipients senses & emotions much more than beauty can. Yeah beauty can disarm you, but if youre a sensory person even in the dimmest sense...talent will always prevail. Point in case, I saw a play recently where a member of the cast affected me so much I'm having impure thoughts about him...hehe... if I had seen this dude on the street, I would have never looked twice. Talent has an aphrodisiacal ((pardon if thats not a real word)) quality to it, I suppose talent is sexy because there is emotion & thought & a degree of sensuality attached to it. Think about it, a guitarist...a pianist...do I gotta draw pictures here? And on that note I will depart...ok wheres my boyfriend gotta go sexually harass him..enuf said, byeeeeee oh p.s... Teddy Tahu Rhodes is too yummy, like mallowpuffs...mmmmm"

  • "...sorry Im not being hungry, I wasnt finished with my selection the darn keyboard got funky on me...The Roots or Mos Def could work it quite beautifully. Real reggae artisans mixing it up with fierce dub poets showing the substance & colour of this my most favourite of childhood discoveries, Thanks to my mothers learned ear. Roots rock reggae..... a gift."

  • "I'd love to do a duet with Joel Gion of Brian Jonestown Massacre. Why? because he's the original cool kid...not in the trendy sense but in the sense that he appears to have no expectations or relationship with the audience..he plays the tambourine & grooves, & has no airs he's relaxed & natural, he doesnt pose but he entertains 100%. I like it when a performer doesnt weight themselves with the responsibility of "appearances". They just are..or perhaps its because he has presence & his eccentric demeanor intrigues me. I'd also choose Anton, but he'd probably kick me out of the band because my singing sux. :)"

  • "My most romantic moment was when I was 14 & smitten with a gorgeous shy boy who once whispered to me during English class "if he were to make a perfume he would name it after me & it would be made of all the prettiest ingredients that girls like". We were friends throughout college with no romantic tie. I still think of him a lot & as a homage when my 2nd daughter was born I named her after him & blessed her with my memories of his charm, sensitivity, & wit...the beauty she supplied herself."
