• "I am sooo going to this event. Wine for me is much more than just a drink, it is a compression and distillation of all the elements and emotions that have gone into its making. I love to try and sense the hillside the grapes were grown on, the look of the buildings nearby, what the winemaker was thinking when they made it, what is the history of the vineyard? I don't care that some people call me a bit snobby or make fun of me going on about it, to KNOW where the grapes were grown or where the wine was made, or to meet the wine maker improves the flavour! Joining the right wine with the right circumstances or experiences enhances both things, remember that buttery Chardonnay you drank at the vineyard in Napier, or the earthy Malbec you tried at the vineyard in Australia, or the first time you tried a Sangiovese. Wine is so much more than a drink, it is a bottled experience, bottled memories, bottled emotions."
