MidwinterCarnival

Iconic community festival, The Dunedin Midwinter Carnival returns for the solstice seeing the First Church grounds once again magically transform into a glistening fabled village this June 23 and 24.

The theme ‘The Enchanted Forest’ will see First Church, with its decorated Gothic style, adorned with glimmering lantern installations, each telling a story, magnified by roving performers manoeuvring about the grounds. Look up to catch a glimpse of Brophy Aerials high amongst the trees, see the return of last year's popular projections radiating from First Church itself, watch as multiple mini lantern processions wind through the site, enjoy dance performances, live music, food trucks and so much more.

Entry to the Carnival will be $5 + bf per person with children under three, and those in the lantern processions free. Tickets will be available soon via https://www.midwintercarnival.co.nz/ and will be sold for 6pm, 7pm and 8pm sessions to spread the audience and ensure a positive and safe experience. Gate sales will be subject to availability.

We are pleased to once again be offering a pay-it-forward option, this allows the pre-purchase of tickets which will then be distributed to partner agencies to disperse to families they engage with.
