This Exhibition "Close to Home" comprises to well known local artists David Tait and Judy Ward
David's passion for art comes largely from his family environment where artistic expression was practiced by almost everyone.
His father, grandfather and grandmother were all outstanding artists.
His brother, the late Graham Tait is well known for his paintings of Otago landscapes, sold in New Zealand and overseas.
Since moving to Christchurch, David has experimented with plasters and acrylic to create three dimensional images on board. These works have proved extremely popular with the New Zealand art lover.
David is now retired and living in Duvauchelle enjoying painting local landscapes.
Judy Ward is also a local artist living in Prebbleton (Christchurch).
Judy has been interested in art from a child and have been painting on and off for many years.
While the majority of her paintings are oils and acrylics she also occasionally works in watercolours and pen and wash.
Akaroa has an abundance of amazing private and commercial buildings that make great subjects.
Much of Judy's work has been sold through cafes and privately and I love the challenge of putting
together a selection of pieces for an exhibition.
Take a drive to Akaroa and visit our little community gallery. This will be a stunning not to be missed exhibition.
