Elizabeth Harcourt is a Wellington based mixed media artist and a Trustee of the Karunai Illam Trust. Her body of work (“That’s a Wrapper”) is made from Whittaker’s Chocolate Wrappers exploring the idea that the containers of things that we tend to discard are also inherently beautiful in themselves. It just depends on how we choose to look at them.

Sankar Ramasamy is a Chennai born, Lower Hutt based watercolorist fascinated with the versatility of the medium. He is a regular member of local Urban Sketch groups and loves capturing urban and rural landscapes. This is a collection of paintings motivated by memories from several places both local and overseas. Sankar is also the current Chair of the Karunai illam Trust.

From her studio in the Western hills above the Hutt Valley Margaret-Anne is inspired every day by the lights and activity of the city and the beauty of the wide skies, sea, bush-clad hills and bird life that surround her. Her deeply felt connection to both the built and natural environments are what she seeks to express in her art making.

The artists are contributors to the Dhan Karunai Illam, a home for disadvantaged children in south
India, founded by Wellingtonian, Jean Watson. Ten percent of the proceeds of exhibition sales will go
to the Illam children.
