For Carl Jung, who first described the 16 psychological types, astrology was a lifelong interest. We'll hear about Jung's deep interest in astrology from our guest speaker: astrologer and counsellor Graham Ibell.

Graham trained abroad in the UK with the highly respected Jungian astrologer Liz Greene and, more recently, has been studying Jungian psychology in Zurich over the last couple of years.

Astrology has been undergoing a resurgence in popularity, particularly among millennials and Gen Z. The astrology app Co–Star, for instance, has been downloaded more than 25 million times; and, as of 2021, a quarter of all young women (ages 18–25) in the United States have Co–Star on their phones. It's interesting to think how Jung would have reflected on this, and our times.

Jung found in astrology a wealth of spiritual and psychological meaning, and suggested the field represents the "sum of all the psychological knowledge of antiquity." As a psychologist, he at times used astrological charts in his work with clients.

This should be a very interesting meetup where we'll learn more about the importance of astrology to Jung from an insightful speaker. There will, of course, be an opportunity for your questions.

Please bring a plate of finger food to share for this end-of-year session. (We'll sort drinks.)

Everybody is welcome, and if you’ve never been to one of our meetups before, then this is an excellent opportunity to get a feel for it. Looking forward to seeing you there.

Venue + koha
We're in the upstairs hall this time. Enter at the side of the building on SH1/Arthur Street (around the corner from Cuba St) and head up the stairs. (There is also a lift, if needed.)

We ask for a koha or donation to help cover the venue costs.

About Who Am I? Understanding Personality Types, Wellington
This is a group for everybody who would like to understand a bit more about themselves and the people they live or work with through sharing with others. Maybe you would like to know why your kids always clash, or why your partner is so sensitive... or not sensitive enough. Maybe you would like to know why you or somebody you love never seems to fit in. Maybe you want to know why you have chosen a certain profession. Maybe you just want to share what you know about personality types or learn what others know.

The main focus of this group is on understanding the 16 psychological types first described by Carl Jung and made popular by Myers-Briggs and David Keirsey. The key is that once we understand that we are not all alike, we can open our minds to sharing rather than judging each other and learn to celebrate our differences.
