Boxing Day, 26th December sees another night full of variety at the Robertson Prestige International Speedway from 6:30pm. Headlining the meeting is the D.M.R Metal Recyclers Caravan & Boat Derby plus the Manawatu Super Saloon Champs, AFC Motorcycles Manawatu Sidecar Championship, Superstock teams racing - PN Panthers v Kihikihi Kings, Stockcar teams races - PN Pumas v Meeanee Maulers, plus Superstocks and Stockcars!
Teams racing is one theme of the night when the Palmerston North Panthers take on the Kihikihi Kings in two spectacular Superstock teams races in preparation for the upcoming ENZED Superstock Teams Championship in February. The Palmerston North Pumas Stockcar team will also be lining up for two Stockcar teams races versus the Meeanee Maulers - expect plenty of action on the track!
The Manawatu Super Saloon Championship will also hit the dirt, with their wide tyres, V8 engines and distinctive low sportscar bodies, these drivers are impressive racing wheel-to-wheel every lap! As you saw at the last Super Saloon event, major mishaps can happen! The racing is exhilarating from these drivers, with local Super Saloon drivers including Peter Bengston, Joe Ingram, Richard Dreaver and the Halcrow family will be looking to make sure that the title honours stay in town!
The daredevil Sidecars will be racing side-by-side for the prestigious AFC Motorcycles Manawatu title. Fans are to expect fast and thrilling racing, with initial interest suggesting this is one of the biggest and best Sidecar meetings on offer this season. With many local rider and swinger combinations who have been competing consistently this season, it's anybody’s guess who will take the top spot on the podium.
Superstocks will be also hitting the dirt with many drivers doing their final tuning for the upcoming New Zealand Superstock Championship at Meeanee Speedway. The fast and spectacular racing from speedway's glamour class should not be missed! The metal crunching Stockcars will also be willing to put on a show for the fans!
Rounding out a massive Boxing Day is the D.M.R Metal Recyclers Caravan & Boat Derby. There is nothing quite like watching caravans and trailered boats bashing and crashing around the speedway oval! This is always great family entertainment and will leave you in fits of laughter and makes it a memorable evening at the Robertson Prestige International Speedway.
