Keeping your kids entertained over the holiday break might sometimes feel like wrangling wild animals, so why not let the professionals take over?

Every school holidays we run a school holiday programme for kids from 5 to 12. They’ll get to meet our incredible animals, learn from our specially trained Zoo staff and get sneak peeks behind the scenes.

Every day of the Zoo Holiday programme is filled with a new action-packed theme, so you can book for one day, or choose a few days that suit.

The kids will have an unforgettable school holiday experience, and be inspired by animals and conservation, all while having fun getting stuck into exciting activities.

Spaces are strictly limited so check out the sessions on our website and book today.

COVID-19 UPDATE: April 2022

The Wellington Zoo School Holiday Programme will run in April 2022 at the RED traffic light level. We have made adjustments to the procedures including contact-free drop off and mask-wearing inside zoo buildings. We may make further changes if necessary in the future to align with government advice.

Please be assured all Zoo staff members who work closely with children in EOTC programmes including LEOTC learning sessions and Zoo Sleepovers are vaccinated against COVID-19.

Our duty of care is to look after our visitors, Zoo team and animals. This is a decision we take seriously, and we will be regularly reviewing in line with government advice to ensure it is still the right approach.
