The exhibition showcases beautiful indigo dyeing artworks and demonstrates various indigo dyeing techniques.
Wen-Chun TANG was immersed in learning and producing indigo dyeing artworks when she was young due to her geographical advantage. She was deeply attracted to the local ‘Indigo Blue’ from Taiwan and has devoted herself to indigo dyeing techniques and implementation. She has demonstrated various blue dyeing techniques she learned in this exhibition. Step by step, she is cultivating the usage of ‘Taiwan Blue’ in Taiwan.
Tang's artworks are lively, and she intentionally leaves plenty of empty spaces by designing her art regionally. She seeks a simplistic, sharp and original style of art. Tang has extended the presentation method of indigo dyeing. She obtains a complex design by using a freehand technique in her artwork and exploring different dyeing mediums such as cotton, natural silk, and silk fabric.
