New Zealand has had some excellent military commanders and leaders over the two World Wars. This presentation will cover the attributes, expertise and skills employed by Generals Chaytor and Russell in the First World War, along with Generals Barrowclough, Freyberg and Kippenberger during the Second World War.
These men have all become known as “The Fighting Commanders”, who all led New Zealand and other national forces from the front.
