The Ice Shelf - Anne Kennedy in conversation with Naomi Arnold.

Anne Kennedy’s latest novel, The Ice Shelf, is equal parts funny and heartbreaking. It follows fledgling writer Janice as she trudges around Wellington one stormy night trying to find a home for her beloved fridge before flying to Antarctica.

Anne chats with journalist Naomi Arnold about this satirical tale of love, writing and climate change.

Anne is an award-winning poet, novelist, teacher, editor and scriptwriter. Her literary endeavours encompass poetry, novels, novellas and screen plays.

She has twice won the country’s top award for poetry, her novel The Last Days of the National Costume was shortlisted for the New Zealand Post Book Awards 2014 and her latest novel, The Ice Shelf, was longlisted for the 2019 Ockham New Zealand Book Awards.
