The Trust Waikato Waihi Beach Lifeguard Service is situated at the northern end of Waihi Beach, but patrol the full length of the beach (10km) as well as some of the smaller bays up the coast.
The Waihi Beach lifeguards work to keep the beach safe for the many swimmers, sunbathers, picnickers and holiday makers from all around New Zealand, who make their way to our beach for the busy summer months.
Every year we perform between 10-30 rescues and around 2000 preventative actions to keep swimming at Waihi Beach as safe as possible.
