State Highway 2, Mangatainoka
State Highway Tui is the Kiwi Pilgrim's Way, and Tui HQ is our Holy Grail. This modern but rusticstyle building is made almost entirely of real wood and corrugated iron, echoing the pioneer spirit of Henry Wagstaff, originator of Tui.
Here you'll discover a museum featuring the histui of Tui, laid out just like the Bayeaux Tapestry that was knitted by Norman jokers after they defeated the Poms in 1066, but with better pictures, and interesting words in English you can actually understand. Plus, it's all in primo vibrant colour.
Most important of all, there's a warmly welcoming bar that draws its Tui direct from the spring only a few metres away, and a shop where you can buy all the latest tui fashion gear - right up to a sofa.
Tours and tastings are available but bookings are essential.
