Te Rauparaha Arena and Aquatic Centre is owned and operated by the Porirua City Council.
Located in the heart of Porirua City, the Arena is an ideal venue for your next event, or to spend the day at our aquatic centre.
Te Rauparaha Arena provides a range of facilities:
- Main gymnasium (2,495 sq metres)
- Secondary gymnasium (857 sq metres)
- Meeting room spaces (2 x 44 sq metres)
- Dance studio (sprung floor)
- Theatre (seats 80)
Events held at the Arena include netball and basketball games, conferences, concerts, wedding shows, home shows, festivals, graduations, public meetings, exhibitions, dinners and awards events.

Visit our Arena Aquatic Centre for a great day out with the family. The Aquatic Centre is a popular heated indoor swimming centre suitable for all the family at an affordable price.
The Arena Aquatic Centre includes:
- 7 lane 25m main pool
- Leisure pool with wave machine
- Spa pools and sauna
- Steam room
- Waterslide
- Lazy river
- Warm toddlers pool
- Outdoor eating areas
- Clean and warm changing rooms
- Onsite cafe
- Snack and vending machines
The Arena Fitness Centre includes:
- Supervised exercise area
- Cardiovascular machines - treadmills, cross trainers, summit trainers, cycles, recumbent cycles, rowers
- Resistance equipment
- Stretching and core training area
- Free weights
- Group fitness classes
- Aquafit classes
- Free quarterly assessments and exercise prescription
- Qualified, knowledgeable and friendly staff
- 3 x 50 inch TV screens
- All members also have free access to the Arena Aquatic Centre.
The Arena Fitness is a small gym with a big difference – the best view in town and free access to the Aquatic Centre and Group Fitness Classes.
