This tiny library sits on the riverbank in Puhoi, an historic village situated in Rodney, North Auckland. It is known to be `one of the smallest libraries in New Zealand’ and is featured on the cover of a book by the same name. It may be tiny but there is a great collection of over 4000 books and around 500 DVDs available for the local community to enjoy.
To step into Puhoi Library is like stepping back in time; in winter the fire will be going and the warm smile of the volunteer librarian greets you. This is a totally independent community library, run entirely by volunteers and with all books donated it has a special place in the hearts of many.
