Hospice Wairarapa

Hospice Wairarapa is a registered Charitable Trust (CC41499) formed in 2009 after a call for the reintroduction of Hospice services by over 3,600 residents of our region.

Our Hospice is owned by the people of Wairarapa, for the people of Wairarapa.
We are a totally independent organisation, and a member of Hospice New Zealand.
We operate day services five days a week from our beautiful home ‘Te Kowhai’ at 59 Renall Street in Masterton.

We provide support and care for those in our region living with a terminal illness, and their family or whanau, both during a person’s illness, and in bereavement. With the help of our wonderful trained volunteers, and donations from our generous community, our goal is to help people make the most of their life that remains; to live every moment in whatever way is important to them, and to die comfortably, with dignity and in their own home if they wish.
All our services are provided free of charge to our patients and their whanau or family, regardless of the cause of their terminal illness, their age, race, religion or financial situation.
