Haumoana School

Haumoana School is located between the coastal Hawke’s Bay townships of Te Awanga and Haumoana bordered by the sea and headlands of Cape Kidnappers and the Tukituki River. The rural school draws from a wide geographical area.

The school community takes pride in the quality and depth of teaching and learning programmes, breadth of learning opportunities extended to all learners, student attitudes, attractive grounds and facilities. Children have a sense of belonging, taking pride in both behaviour, performance and achievement with a well-regarded positive school culture and tone.

We are a Decile 7 school that has a roll of 145 – 185 pupils, sustaining 8 teachers. We identify 24% of our children as Māori and have a close school affiliation with the local Matahiwi Marae and Ngati Hawea hapu.
