Boasting the largest walk-through aviary in New Zealand and home to over 600 native and exotic animals, the zoo is set amongst 25 hectares lush tranquil surroundings and is the ideal destination for a relaxing recreational visit. As well as being a tourism and recreational park, Hamilton Zoo is a valuable contributor to breeding programmes for endangered species of animals.
