Part of Otago Polytechnic, the Dunedin School of Art Gallery is a very active and lively exhibition space. The Gallery had its first exhibition to coincide with the Aotearoa New Zealand Association of Art Educators Conference in April 2009 in our new award-winning building. Since then there has been a continuous programme of events in the Gallery showcasing a wide variety of work from within the Art School’s undergraduate and postgraduate programs, from past students, academic staff and from other schools within the Otago Polytechnic.
The Gallery operates very much as a teaching space for the School of Art students giving them the opportunity to present their work professionally both to fellow students and the public as well as engage with the work of other artists and groups.
The Gallery is open to the public during the school term when exhibitions are running between 10am and 4pm Monday to Friday.
