Each year more than 30,000 people visit Tiritiri Matangi, an island sanctuary in the Hauraki Gulf. Previously farmed, Tiritiri Matangi has been replanted with almost 300,000 native trees, and is home to rare birds including takahē, stitchbirds and kōkako.

Roadside Stories is a series of audio guides that follow major road trips in New Zealand. The stories cover the places you’ll pass along the way – their people, their history, their cultural and natural significance.
