Community Birth Services

Community Birth Services is a charitable trust established in 1996 and holds contracts with the MidCentral District Health Board. You will find us in our new location in the heart of the city, at Level 2 Westside Chambers, 151 The Square. A cosy place where pregnancy, birth and babies are celebrated.

Many people see birth as a medical event but at Community Birth Services we see it as part of normal life. We believe that nurturing a baby begins with nurturing a mother and the way we can do that is to help you be well informed about the maternity services and the process of birth. When you feel confident about the decisions and choices you have made and comfortable that they suit your individuality then you can relax and look forward to the birth of your baby.

All of us working at Community Birth Services are there because we are passionate about the experiences of parents and babies during birth. We have extensive knowledge of pregnancy and birth, we understand the issues and concerns that you may have, and we are highly committed to our work. Our antenatal classes are facilitated by qualified child birth educators and we love what we do!
