Tokoroa's Big Rock Mountain Bike Park is viewed as one of NZ's top rides and is a single track made up of volcanic ash and clay.
Big Rock contains 7 well-maintained loops and cross-country, down-hill and trial tracks.
Good starter tracks are ‘Jack and Jill’ and ‘Three Blind Mice’ - both about 4km of nice wide track. ‘Lawrys Hill’ takes about half an hour and has a tricky bit near the start before getting easier.
Easy to difficult, depending on the trail. 1 - 5 hrs (up to 35 km).
