In 1961 a group of parents in the Albany community identified a need for an educational childcare facility, hence Albany Community Preschool a non-profit organisation was established. The Centre is managed by a competent staff/parent Committee led by a parent–elected Executive Committee. The Executive Committee comprises a Chairperson, Treasurer, Secretary, Centre Manager and Head Teacher. The Centre Manager is Beverley Furness and the Head Teacher is Lynne Umar.
