"Dance is one of the arts that you can partake in whether you are an expert or an amateur. And you can get great joy from actually doing it yourself or watching others ...whether it be in Aotearoa or in Northern Africa. One of the most memorable days I have had was in Rajasthan, India. During the day we watched a group of young people dancing to celebrate a local festival and that night a group of danced ourselves silly on a rooftop in Udiapur to some wonderful dub and reggae. Some many of our memorable events can be associated with dancing in one form or another...the first school disco, the 21st parties, formal balls, our first live concert, weddings, the list continues as does our lives.. the reasons are different but, dance can bring out so many emotions."
