  • "I had only just arrived in New Zealand having moved from Canada. I was driving a beat up old station wagon I had bought off a random Austrian guy I had met at the hostel in Auckland and was on my way down to Wellington. As per usual I had taken a detour off the main highway and was exploring the NZ countryside when I came around a bend in the road and found myself in the middle of a herd of sheep. It was so fitting with the idealistic image of NZ that I had in my head that I crawled out and sat on the hood of my car taking photos as they wandered by. That was one of my first introductions to NZ and biginning of my love affair with NZ road trips. I'm still here over 2 years later and hitting the road to continue exploring every chance I get!"

  • "I would love to hear Sun and Moon from Miss Saigon. It was such an amazingly powerful musical to see. I saw it with my grade 10 band class on a trip down to Seatle and it was incredible to see typically cynical 15 year olds moved by such a story."

  • "I find the constant competition to take over space in a house the ultimate battle of the sexes. It's quietly done and subtle but it's the equivilant of animals marking their territory. When I first moved in with my boyfriend car models, parts and photos were everywhere in the house. As time has moved on though, these automative symbols have been slowly migrating into the spare room and out of the common areas. The war has not yet been won but I have to claim victory to several battles :P"

  • "Real love to me is when I am sitting at home, sick as a dog, facing christmas for the first time in my life without my family in Canada and my boyfriend comes home and says "Why don't we go to Canada for Christmas" after only being with me for a few months. He gave up time with his own family and travelled to a country he had never been to before to endure the interrogation of my family for me. It was an incredible gesture and probably the moment when I actually fell in love with him."

  • "I know it's corny but for me cool is still and always will be epitomized by the Fonz from Happy Days. He was cool but with a good heart and without being cruel as opposed to Hollywood's modern day interpretations of cool."

  • "Jazz to me is a lazy romantic candle lit meal for two. It tends to always be the back drop for romance and certainly has a big place in my relationship."

  • "I've always believed that the quiet, suffering approach with the use of the word "fine" when asked if I'm ok tends to do the trick. There is something about that little word that sparks fear into men's hearts!"

  • "I've always found that animals should inspire far more mercy than they receive. The number of reports of abuse you see on the news these days is unbelievable. I've started volunteering at the SPCA and helping out with the dogs there and I have to admit they just melt my heart. All they want is just to be with you and be loved. They care about nothing else and yet every single one of these animals has been abandoned. I try and show mercy whenever I can when dealing with animals, we're supposed to be the superior species and yet we seem to so often get it so wrong!"

  • "A working class man to me, while it's an older term, I believe that modern day perspectives need to be applied. He should be not afraid to get his hands dirty, wether that's outside in the work shop or helping around the house by scrubbing the bathroom. He should work hard but still be able to take that moment to be a good family man. He's in sporting terms what you would call an all rounder. And best of all.... he can fix anything with duct tape and a bit of WD40!"
