  • "LOADS of bush memories... I come from a family of pig hunters - not a rare event in NZ eh? But how many can say that their Dad died, quite literally, in the bush, complete with guns ablazin'?! This was in May 2004, high up in the Coromandel Ranges, and although (of course!) I'd rather he be here with me, I'm glad it happened quickly there (his heart gave out) and that he wasn't wired to tubes in a hospital. We hung his boots in the tree where he fell, and buried his ashes near the same spot - now how's that for "down to earth"?! Kennel time, Pop x"

  • "I've been priviledged to have many Great Leaps Forward in my life, but probably my biggest would be being a mother to 2 fantastic and amazing little children - followed closely by being married to such a fabulous and supportive husband. My life would be totally shallow and empty without these three people in my life. They all teach me to be a better person, and make me feel a deeper love than I thought possible every single day of the week. xxx"

  • "This is such a great charity to support - I know first hand. The help True Colours have given my family around my severly disabled 2 year old daughter has been simply amazing. They've saved our sanity time and time again and are approachable 24/7 - literally. We depend on them, and would love to know they'll be around forever, but they run souly on donations and fundraising in these hard times can be difficult. How wonderful to have the Finn Brothers, such fabulous local talent, as patrons, and the extraordinary assistance of Anna Stretton to boot! Their generosity - and yours - will ensure a more certain future for True Colours, and the future for the families they support will be brighter for it."

  • "Like most of us, I really need to Get Up and Go do some exercise! But there's so many excuses not to... no time, busy at work, busy with the kids, it's raining, my feet hurt, there's something good on the telly (yeah, right!), I have all this chocolate to eat instead... Wish I was part of the Funky Monkey team - they have all that energy and are PAID to use it!!! If only I could win their DVD (for my kiddies of course...). Then I would have their music and energy on tap as inspiration to do that exercise I spoke of earlier - by dancing along with my kiddies!!! Then for sure I'd Get Up and Go! :-) PS Funky Monkeys Rock x"

  • "I quite like the idea of swapping the girl's world and being a T-Bird for the day. Messing about with very cool cars, hanging with ya mates all day, speeding down the levy, smoking (and not having to worry about not being PC while you do it), flirting (among other things...) with the coolest chicks at the drive-thru - and not even having to shower if ya don't want 'cos your hair is MEANT to be greasy! That sounds like a great break from what life is like for me! Tell me more!!!"

  • "We should support NZ music, simply because we're as good as any other country - if not better - in EVERY field. Be proud to be a Kiwi! Kiwi's Rock!"

  • "The question is not what your description of "soul" is, but what does "having soul" mean to you. These are totally different questions. That said, "having soul" to me means possessing the ability to deeply feel an emotion, and pass that emotion on to others through the medium of music. To me it comes as a whole package of voice and rhythm - physical movement corresponding to the flow of emotions that are being portrayed. I like to think that I "have" soul. My husband on the other hand will readily admit he does not - you'd have seen better rhythm in a punga tree on a still day! Without the rhythm, without the depth, it's just not soul."

  • "Seriously Onionpeel, are my answers really that good that you feel the need to mimic me? And almost word for word. This isn't the first time. Honestly Darling, you don't want to start a cat fight, do you? The fab team at the Hive will see right through you, and your fish nets..."

  • "I've been trying to think of someone who's used to having someone's hand up their butt... Elton John? Micheal Barrymore? Paris Hilton? Any of these would be quite amusing as hand puppets I would imagine. In fact, it would no doubt increase Paris' IQ for her head to be filled with something other than air for a change, even if it is just stuffing."

  • "I'm itching for: a good night out with my lovely husband, a night away from the kids, an excuse to get dolled up, a chance to indulge in an expensive meal, a good night's sleep in a posh hotel, and a giggle or two along the way."
