  • "A buddhist monk and Jack Johnson would be my companions on six months in a leaky boat. Jacks quite handy with a guitar and we could make up seemingly simple songs about everyday events that happen on the boat. He is a surfer from Hawaii so will fix up the leaks as well. Jack would miss his girlfriend a lot so we could send a 'message to my girl' in a bottle off the side of the boat when passing Hawaii. Meanwhile I can teach Jack about some great things about New Zealand such as Split Enz and their lyrics, and how they provided a song track for a generation. I could make him laugh telling him about my two-timing boyfriend in Timaru and how I got him back by dedicating "I hope i never see you again" on live radio to the dirty creature. The buddhist monk might be interested in my painful experience how on finding my boyfriend it was "I got you and thats all I want" but quickly turned to "I see red, I see red, I see red". The monk would enlighten me that you learn from bad experiences to become a better person, and to not keeping the same mistakes, rise above and make sure "history never repeats". Am sure between Jack, the Buddhist monk, and my new enlightened self, we would write a lot of brilliant lyrics and return to New Zealand shores with some creative lyrics in case Split Enz needed a hand writing some new songs for their upcoming tour.
