  • "I have lived in New Zealand for almost forty years. I am a Scot by birth. My family survived the blitz as my father survived the arctic convoys to Russia. Without the American involvement in WW2 the allies would surely have been defeated and New Zealand would just as surely have been invaded by the Japanese armies. It saddens me that there is such a high level of anti American feeling in our country. I am pleased to see that Te Papa recognizes the massive sacrifice made by the American people on our behalf. As we remember our fallen servicemen and women, we should also take time out to remember the contribution of our American friends and allies - LEST WE FORGET! Ian Dale Christchurch"
