Aotearoa’s most prestigious contemporary art prize the Walters Prize 2010 exhibition launches tonight!
The four finalists and the international Judge have been announced, and the exhibition is open from 24th July (tomorrow!) at the Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tamaki for everyone to come to their own conclusions about the jurors choices.
This is the fifth time the biannual prize has been on the arts calendar and the much-anticipated Prize still sets out to make contemporary art a more widely recognised and debated feature of our cultural life, while recognising an outstanding work of contemporary New Zealand art produced and exhibited in the past two years. So getting talking!!
