"We gathered to reflect on the past year, reconnect with nature and focus on resolutions and tools for creating positive change in 2012. The New Year’s events involved many inspirational satsangs (spiritual discourses) from Swamis Muktidharma, Karma Karuna and Gyan Dharma. On New Year's eve we celebrated with two hours of Kirtan (joyful chanting), a delicious chai tea and cake break followed by a candle ceremony focused on our Sankalpa (resolution) and the chanting of the Mahamrityunjaya mantra 108 times to ring out 2011 and bring in 2012. The stormy weather of 2011 blew out overnight and 2012 dawned calm, clearing through the day as we enjoyed a delicious buffet brunch and practiced Antar Mouna (silence) in action with some Karma yoga (yoga of action - selfless service) in the garden. Everyone departed with some new tools to put into practice and the renewed inspiration to incorporate these into their daily life."
