"I love them both dearly - and am proud of both equally as much for the very fact they represent all that is NZ.
My pick would have to be Malvina though, as I have a soft spot for cows & I believe she practiced by singing to the cows as she did the milking - yes, proud to be kiwi :)"
"I've never actually had the opportunity to see a live circus performance - but on the zTele they have shown one where bicycles balance one on the other to great heights. It amazes & enthrals me to see this feat - not only the balancing feat, but also the great precision, the finesse & gracefulness, & the height to which they work withpout a fault. Superb!"
"Driving home - partner in the back seat cos he's had a tipple, I was passing the Glen Innes pub when an unlicensed driver not wearing a seat belt over took another car right in to my path,. Having cars parked left & right I had no where to turn, so hit the brakes & stopped on the spot. He hit me full on as I hit the horn - & 40 police emptying out the Glen Innes pub looked up to witness the accident. The engine on the zodiac had been pushed back into the car, after moving the block a good half metre of spare tyre room, & buckled the driver door - I was trapped. The police forced the door open, I attended the injured driver of the other car & saw him off to hospital - both cars were totalled, & as he was unlicensed, I had no hope of getting the excess money out of him - in fact he "disappeared" from trace. As it happened, the boss in charge of the 40 cops was my father - so it didn't take long for him to be notified & say "at 30 mph instead of 34 mph - you'd have not been in that spot!""
