"Right now, the world is living unsustainably and people need to be more aware of this fact and that it will take a huge collective effort to put us back on track. I think the environment needs to be taken more seriously, especially in New Zealand where our "clean, green" image, is becoming only an illusion. Too often I hear people scoff and make snarky comments about "tree huggers" whenever concerns about the environment is raised which just goes to demonstrate the ignorance of which our society lives in when it comes to what they know of environmental sustainability, and how close we are to destroying the very environment in which we live in. Which in turn is unhealthy to the people, which is unhealthy to the workplace, which is unhealthy to the economy. I think the first step is to really push the environmental envelope and really make the reality of our unsustainable earth known, only then will people be encouraged to band together and help."
