Tammy Aukett's Comments

  • "I am nostalgic for ignorance! The time of your life when you didn't know about global warming, poverty, war, politics, maliciousness, crime and greed. Being oblivious to the stresses of today's society, world and people. Being happy with what you have and not even knowing about, let alone coveting, that which you may never obtain. I am nostalgic for the freedom of childhood as I know not only can I never have it back - the children of today will never know such freedom. Ignorance is bliss."

  • "The Ultimate 2010 BDO (if anything was possible...) Queen( this needs no explaining! Old, young, male, female, it doesn't matter who you are - there's a Queen song you LOVE and know all the words to!), Muse (apparently the best 'new' live band in the world and they opened the new Wembley Stadium so someone knows how talented they are!), The Beatles (or even just Paul McCartney - saw him at Glastonbury singing Hey Jude as a finale....beautiful and over 80,000 still humming this tune the next day!), Jimi Hendrix (such talented musicians are few and far between), UB40 and Bob Marley and the Wailers (at Ragamuffin 2008 these sets almost brought tears to my eyes - nothing like thousands of voices and swaying lighters all in time!) Homegrown - there is now so much talent but the pick of the crop for me are - Fat Freddy's Drop, Black Seeds, Shapeshifter, Kora, Katchafire and of course, for some real entertainment and put everyone in a fantastic mood.... Flight of the Conchords!"

  • "The bush is always such a peaceful educational and awe-inspiring place to be. One of my most favourite times in the bush was taking my class of 26 kids (aged between 8-10) on a real bush adventure! Finding native trees and listening to native birds, hunting out weta accommodation in dying trunks and being able to give a group of 'city kids' the tools, time and opportunity to build their own bivouac out of things around them. The excitement, their faces, and the knowledge that they themselves are inspired to, not only to return to the bush, but also to protect it are what makes this my best bush experience"

  • "Good People - why? There is no better way to sum up a kiwi Summer than everyone pitching in with a positive vibe, soaking up some sun with the ideal music to bring everyone together! That's what this song is to me - Kiwi music at its best! It makes you stop and appreciate not only the music but how people react and interact with it."

Extra additions, I have one or two Certainly some bling and a feather boa or two Fake eyelashes, eyeliner and definitely blush I know I won't be getting ready in a rush So I'm all dressed up and I know where I want to go Off to see the 'Adventures of Priscilla' show I'd hate for my ensemble to gather dust and grime So fingers crossed I win tickets this time"

  • "All glitz and glam for this show of all shows The limit on my clothes nobody knows! So lets start from the head and work our way down And I'll describe my outfit - from my hair to my gown Let begin with some glitter and a feather or two (Of course for this show only peacock will do!) A sparkling tiara with red blue and green Will ensure that I am dressed to be seen Down to the dress, low cut of course Massive cleavage appears with Wonderbra force! Sparkling silver and seductive black With nothing behind me except a flesh-baring back Platforms are the natural choice for shoes The only decision is which colour I'll choose I want them to dazzle and make sure I'm seen Luckily my fiancee is a sparky and I know he'll be keen To hook me up with lights and start a glow That will surely emanate from below Lighting my costume with gentle ease That special touch to my costume should be a breeze Extra additions, I must have one or two Certainly some 'bling' and a fea"

  • "I travelled through Europe in my early 20's and appreciated the wine at the time... however maybe a little too much. I didn't take the time to savour, to compare and to learn about the wine as I wish I had done. Truly a tragedy when you consider the vast amounts consumed (albeit guzzled and gulped) through France and Italy in particular. Please give me the opportunity to rectify my ignorance"

The Mission - find the missing love child of C3PO and Chewbacca (come on you didn't really think that C3PO was straight did you?) - luckily for my earthly companions I will be carrying a photo of the missing child... who looks remarkably like a Furby. I might not achieve anything during this mission but man would my 'assistants' have a hilarious story to tell at the pub over a few drinks!"

  • "I would sing "You're beautiful" to my big sis, Who when faced with turmoil can still produce bliss, For her Caitlin and Sam and Jacob too Only a brave woman has two under two! Her inner beauty radiates out When near her children there's no need to shout Even when cutting each other's hair Or trying to sneak some of Dad's beer When leaving bikes out in the rain Or causing their sister wrestling pain It's all dealt with calmly again and again So my sister is the one I would sing this to Because I know her children would sing to her too"
