"Being an artist, my husband had a challenge when making his marriage proposal...in the most creative way without blowing his budget.....(Which is pretty much my nature...of being creative yet frugal!)
On the evening of new years eve 2002, I was driven to 'our spot' at a rural hilltop. Our car perched atop in country with the AKL cityscape and skytower in the distance. Picnic blanket and wine glasses under a starlit sky, he brang out 10 beautiful red roses he had handpicked from his sisters garden. With each of the first 9 roses, he spoke of significant memories in our relationship, and with the final rose, which i realised was WHITE, he gently said, "and this rose represents our future". When I took the rose, I could see the diamond ring in the center of it. I instantly accepted..and too my amazement, the New Years Eve fireworks suddenly erupted from the AKL Skytower in front of us!!!!!! PERFECT TIMING for a Perfect Husband! "
