Ten years ago in 2000, Maria Godinet Watts Rhonda Thompson approached Tanya Muagututi’a to consider staging a concert for the 2001 Ta Moko /Tatau Symposium. A one-day festival happened at the Arts Centre called ‘Tasi - Pacific Arts’. New artist Brian Newport designed a logo called the ‘Tasi man’ the event became an annual fixture for PU. By 2003, Toru-Pacific Arts (three in Maori) opened as a multi-event arts festival and the Family Day overcrowded with teenaged girls wanting to see a new group called Nesian Mystic.

At Lima-Pacific Arts, a new bus tour had performers travel to shopping malls to promote the festival. At Ono-Pacific Arts, emerging artist Felolini Maria Ifopo held five art exhibitions and at Vitu - Pacific Arts, Dallas Tamaira of Fat Feddy’s Drop headlined for the first time as a solo artist.
Waru - Pacific Arts and Iva Pacific Arts featured strong local performers. Swarm performed with live graffiti artists painting words Waru and Iva onstage.
