"It is latin dancing for me. I lived in South America for 1 year when I was 17 and was infected by their vibrancy and life. There I learned a variety of latin dances - mainly Salsa. Since then I taught my husband and we have had many beautiful moments dancing together including returning to Argentina last year and attending the Tango Festival in Buenos Aires learning off the best in the industry. Dancing (any style) is an incredible way to express your love or appreciation of someone in your life, it always makes me smile - the good, bad and the downright hilarious =)"
"Having traveled internationally I am incredibly proud of our New Zealand culture and a lot of that is our traditional Maori culture. I say this having no Maori blood in me but appreciating our country's heritage. It is so sad when a country or the next generations loose sight of their history and what made them great, only through supporting the arts, performance and portrayal of that culture will it truly be archived in our memories and passed on to future generations as well as showcased around the world. While as I said I am not a Maori NZer I am a proud NZer and when I travel it is often Maori songs, dance and performance skills I learned at school as a child that I enjoy teaching those people I meet overseas."
