Wonderfully witty and inventive collaborative artists Edwards + Johann will be our featured artists in this year's Auckland Festival of Photography. They're sure to transform the gallery into a magical spectacle.

Tickle My Senses! The new exhibition running from 18 February to 1 May 2011. A colour-coded treasure trove inspired by Dr Seuss, Tickle My Senses is an interactive exhibition of over 40 artworks from The Dowse collection. The show encourages visitors to respond to art in ways beyond just looking. By tickling our senses of touch, taste, smell, hearing and sight, visitors will enjoy a range of eclectic artworks in innovative and playful ways.

Voting for the People's Choice Award with it's prize of $1000 to the artist is open for the duration of The Portage Ceramic Awards at Lopdell House Gallery in Titirangi. The exhibition will be running until 5 December 2010.

Tickets are now available for the Portage Ceramic Awards Opening Ceremony happening on October 7 at 6pm. Call the gallery shop on 818 8070 x201 or come by to pick them up and view the exhibition Under.

The opening for Words Chosen Carefully went really well. We now have the book of the same title edited by Siobhan Harvey with photography by Liz March stocked in the gallery shop. The photographs by Liz March are being exhibited in the Street Gallery.

Friday 11th at 6pm, is the opening of "Champions". Jessie Casson photography for the Auckland Festival of Photography. Also Ava Seymour - the recent McCahon House Artists Resident showing her work in the Lopdell House Street Gallery. Come and join us for the evening.... we'd love to see you there....

The Adam Portraiture Award exhibition is now open and is 'double-billing' with Don Binney's latest drawings and new book Drawing the Waitakere Coast. We had Don in for a talk and autograph session on friday 16 April. Lots of happy folk left with their signed copies...

Waitakere Artists Open Studio Weekend 10 - 4 on Sat 27 and Sun 28 March. www.waitakere.govt.nz and www.lopdell.org.nz. HAND PAINTED CERAMIC MUGS 28 MARCH. Pop into the Lopdell House Studio between 10am and 2pm to decorate a mug. Suitable for children 5 years and up. The cost is $10/mug which includes materials and firing. It will take about 30 minutes to decorate your mug.
