  • "Auckland Mandolinata Orchestra closed its Winter Concert Series with the programme maintained by the audience as being the most enjoyable for 2012. Led by Musical Director, Bryan Holden, the orchestra wandered about Europe performing its best this year, visiting Greece, Russia, Spain, Croatia and France. Three new players added to the quality of sound making a total of 27 musicians and new players are waiting to join in. We welcome any interested musicians who can read music and if you want to be notified of our concerts visit our website. www.mandolinata.net"

  • "Sinarella was hopelessly funny and so well produced. Please do a re-run so I can take my family. It was booked out too soon. Mayb next time in Aotea Centre??"

  • "The final concert of our winter series featured Lynne Sue Flameling playing an interesting version of the manolin that an audience member had brought along. A haunting Romanian gypsy song was performed with Robin Worley on the flute and a new piece, "Romanza" was played by Heather Kaufman (mandola) and Joshua Paul (liuto) as a duet with the orchestra. Several waltzes were included in the programme with two from "Ring Round the Moon" by David Farquhar and Translateur's "Wiener Praterleben". Besides some emotive Russian tunes Handel's "Overture to St Cecilia" rounded out the programme. "Almond Icing" our in-house quartet entertained brilliantly in the interlude. We attracted our biggest audience for 2011 and our retired players said we are playing better every year. Don't miss 2012. Our MD Bryan Holden will be leading us on to even greater things."

  • "think you should get Auckland Mandolinata Orchestra to play some Euroean music for you. They are not too loud and give just the right background feeling for a European market."

  • "The Auckland Mandolinata Orchestra supports young people interested in music. The mandolin family of instruments is different but open to all styles of music. "Jubate" are young players well worth listening to."
