Takapuna Beach Summer Days Festival
The Pohutukawa will be in full bloom as Takapuna Beach Summer Days festival-goers enjoy 7 days of music, food and family fun. Summer Days is a major festival that captures the spirit of a Kiwi summer on the Takapuna Beach Reserve.
Organisers want to build on the success of their inaugural Takapuna Summer Festival held in March 2013 and 2014, aiming to celebrate the beach and summer while promoting Takapuna as a great destination for all the family.
Takapuna businesses are backing the festival with events planned throughout the week from 31st January and finishing up on the Reserve for Waitangi Day (Kiwi Day) on the beach with the Open Jam Session.
Festival fun kicks off on Saturday, 31st Jan Sun & Sound Beach Event for the over-18s. Sun & Sound brings everything you can think of in a perfect Kiwi summer in one action packed day. Sit back and tune into the fresh funky sounds of Auckland’s premium summer DJs like Dean Campbell, Beat Mafia, Bulletproof and more.
February 1st is the Family Beach Day, a free event featuring everything from a flying fox, massive slide and ferris wheel to great music in the parks, food and classic American cars on show. The Family Beach Day is a Zero Waste event to promote environmental responsibility.
