New Zealand Symphony Orchestra 2013 Season

The New Zealand Symphony Orchestra's 2013 Season is a rich mix of their strengths - creativity, artistic aspiration and dedication, all brought to life by our international reputation which enables us to bring you the best artists from around the world – none more popular than Welsh singing star Bryn Terfel!

2013 offers an inspiring mix of music. The Subscription Season concerts continue to challenge, inspire and surprise with both new and old works by some of the world's most celebrated composers. There’s music for children with Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf; music for the aficionados including premieres by New Zealand composers; popular ‘mini-festivals’ featuring works by Beethoven and Mozart; and there’s even something for the rugby fans when celebrity Anton Oliver makes his debut appearance with the NZSO.

There are two sides to every symphony – the musicians of the orchestra and you, the audience. When the two come together in live performance, an exquisite alchemy occurs. The NZSO are exploring this duopoly throughout their brochure and website, where you will be able to follow the dual experiences of our NZSO musicians and their audience members as they talk about this shared magic of music.

The NZSO will play in 25 centres across New Zealand in 2013. You will find details for all our concerts on our website. This year, they have changed their presentation to focus on you and your region so it is easy to see what we are bringing to your community in 2013.

Enjoy the music of your national Orchestra, the NZSO in 2013 - world-class, home-grown and performing live in your community.
