The 2014 Steampunk NZ Festival includes the Steampunk NZ Fashion Show and Dinner/Show and Gala Ball which are into their fifth years.
This event is a prestige date on the New Zealand Steampunk calendar and has participants from all over New Zealand and increasingly from other parts of the world. Steampunkers come to be thoroughly splendid, show off their creations, inventions and outfits and most of all welcome newcomers to the fold. Steampunkers love nothing better than initiating budding enthusiasts and assisting with advice about fashion and accessories.
There will be a Souk Market with clothing and accessory stalls, stalls where rayguns, hats and other extras can be made, photograph opportunities, galor and tea duelling. The idea being that if you enter as a novice you leave as a steampunk.We are utterly inclusive with as many venues as possible having wheelchair access and it is a family friendly event with 14 different activities covering 3 days. On top of that there are many other lovely things to see and do in Victorian Steampunk Oamaru.
