Changes to the Traffic Light System and what it means for events

Today the government announced upcoming changes to the Traffic Light System. Below we’ve summarised the new restrictions.

The whole country remains in the Red Light setting of the Covid-19 Protection Framework with the following changes:

 From 11:59 pm on Friday 25 March:

• Scanning and record-keeping is no longer required
• No limits for outdoor activities and events with My Vaccine Pass
• Gathering limits for indoor events have increased from 100 to 200 with My Vaccine Pass
• Mask wearing is required for indoor venues
• Masks wearing not needed outside

From 11.59 pm 4 April:

• Vaccine passes will no longer be required
• The government will no longer require mandates for businesses operating vaccine passes

When we move to Orange (date to be confirmed):

• There will be no limits on outdoor events
• There will be no limit for indoor events.
• Indoor events over 500 capacity are encouraged to either add extra capacity or provide seating
• Mask wearing is required for indoor venues
