Empire of the Sun has been announced as the headlining act at this year's Otago University Orientation Week programme.
The Australian synth-pop duo will perform at Forsyth Barr Stadium, in a coup for the University's Students' Association.
Known for their hit singles 'Walking on a Dream', 'We are the People' and 'Alive', Empire of the Sun's concerts are huge theatrical productions with lavish costumes and pyrotechnics.
SWTMXKDS and Sniffers DJs will be the support DJs for the evening. The gig is open to the public and there will be a special student price available.
Empire of the Sun were last in New Zealand for Rhythm and Vines in 2013.
